Snow Survival (2/2)

Our snow igloos had about 20 to 50 cm walls. Sleeping places has to be higher, so that carbon dioxide goes down and you will get oxygen through ventilation hole. Snow also insulates you from the cold ice/ground. Candle gives light and shows, that there is oxygen inside the igloo.

Getting in.

Inside.

Snow igloo.

Previous article: Snow Survival

The night in snow igloo is behind and everything went well. A short visit outside the igloo proved, that it was much warmer inside. However I did not sleep very well. During the night I lost feeling from my legs, but short warming bought it back. I was a little worried about my breathing because my asthma, but there was no problems. My muscles are quite sore, because building snow igloos is actually quite hard work.

Conditions in the morning about 8am

Temperature (outside): -7.8 °C
Wind Chill: -12.8 °C
Wind Speed: 3.1 m/s (light breeze)
Wind Direction: 350 ° (from north)

Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

Hope you don't mind me slipping the link in Pasi, I just knew there had to be some Frauleins hiding under the mass of warm clothing and I am glad you you used the correct housing plan candles can be warm as cuddles in a small ice structure, lol.

Its actually quiet comfortable in an igloo, sorry to hear about the muscle pain and thanks for sending the email and sorry I did not respond earlier we have had power outage and loads of rain (no snow here in Asia but we have cold beer, lol) so its been a Internet cold turkey day. Hey... cold feet, I was hoping you received my advice on wearing dirty socks it may sound strange but it certainly works, they also have to be dry. When I did snow survival courses and exercises never had a big problem with frozen feet. And candles can keep hunger at bay so I have been told nibbled on one and found them not to my taste, lol.

Seems you enjoyed your self but where where the guns don't they supply them to army reserve, its actually important as now you are the only people protecting the Russian hoards from ice boarding their way to the snow ball fight and who is protecting Father Christmas? lol

Hope you had a great time thanks for the email and would I be right you hired a top ice hockey star for the film, I would be no wiser as I could not recognize the films star? lol To many clothes... lol

Pasi, you couldn't pay me to sleep in that thing, even if Boris Becker and Pavel Nedved were lying beside me.
